WALK - WOOF - WAG
Walk- Woof-Wag is an event that was created by Bryce Velasco in 2014 as an eighth grade student at Marsh Junior High School here in Chico, CA. Bryce adopted his dog Jasmine from the Chico Animal Shelter, and wanted to give back to the shelter through his eighth grade leadership project.
The Walk Woof Wag is now co-sponsored by Friends of the Chico Animal Shelter (FOCAS), Sarah Richardson's Canine Connections, and the North Valley Community Foundation!
Save the date!! October 26, 2019 at Bidwell Park. All proceeds will go to the medical fund at the Chico Animal Shelter to provide medical care and spay/neuters for the animals at the shelter.
This year's poster dog is Rudy, a pit bull/terrier mix. Rudy was found during the Camp Fire and brought to the temporary shelter run by North Valley Animal Disaster Group. No one claimed Rudy, and when the temporary animal shelter was closing, the Chico Animal Shelter took in all of the unclaimed dogs and many of the unclaimed cats. Rudy had many medical problems, including a bad skin infection, and some bad teeth, all of which have been taken care of while he has been staying with his foster mom. Proceeds from the Walk Woof Wag go toward helping animals (dogs and cats!) like Rudy get the treatment they need to live a happy healthy life!
