The Chico Animal Shelter housed some of the stray animals found during the Camp Fire on or after 11/8/18. On 12/19/18, most of the stray dogs were transferred from the temporary shelter at Del Oro Dr. to the Chico Animal Shelter, and a few to the Paradise Animal Shelter.
On 12/19/18, 12/20/18 and 1/14/19, many of the stray cats were transferred from the temporary shelter at Del Oro Dr. to Chico Animal Shelter. Other cats were transferred to Butte Humane Society, Paradise Animal Shelter and NW SPCA (see more info below).
