Lost and Found Logs
Animals that have been reported to the Chico Animal Shelter as lost or found but are not at the shelter.  This page is for animals that have been lost or found in CHICO ONLY.
If you have lost or found an animal outside the City of Chico, please do not post here.
Please visit our Found a Pet? or Lost a Pet? page for more information.
Lost and found reports will be kept active for six months from the date of posting. After six months, they will be removed.

Please call the shelter for more information on any pets listed here.
To have the pet scanned, you can bring the dog to the shelter or contact a Pet Pal.

Note: Pets are considered to be the legal property of their owners.  Finding a pet does not entitle the finder to keep, sell or give away the animal, nor does it convey ownership to the finder.  If you find a pet, you must actively look for the animal's owner for at least 90 days, and even then, the owner still has rights to reclaim their pet under many circumstances.
Penal Code 485 states: "One who finds lost property . . . without first making REASONABLE AND JUST EFFORTS TO FIND THE OWNER AND TO RESTORE THE PROPERTY TO HIM, is guilty of theft."
Part of this is reporting the found animal to the shelter servicing the area where the animal was found, and following their policies and procedures for strays, even if you have the animal checked for a microchip on your own.

NOTE: Use the scroll bars to see all columns (left to right) or all records in a column (up and down).  Click on individual record for more information.  Click on the bottom right of each table ("view larger version") to see an expanded view (opens in a new window).
Animals are sorted by sex.
