Animals at the Shelter

Below are photos of stray animals that have been brought to the shelter.  We put every stray animal that comes in on the site right away, this is a complete list of all the animals at the shelter.  The stray holding period is only 4 days, not counting the day of impound (or days we are closed).  Animals that are suffering from injuries or illness may be euthanized immediately.  After the four day holding period, animals are evaluated for adoptability and may be transferred to other rescue groups, put into the City of Chico adoption program, or euthanized.

The Chico Animal Shelter is not available for walk-ins.  If your lost pet is at the shelter, please call the shelter at 530-894-5630 to make an appointment for pickup.
